Europe and Central Asia
IGLHRC's staff partners with activists to fight for an end to human rights violations based on sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression in Europe and Central Asia, where most of our work involves emergency responses to harassment, discrimination and violence, including at Pride marches. In the last few years we have responded to threats to close Lambda Istanbul, an LGBT group from Turkey, and supported public demonstrations by sexual minorities in Russia, Croatia, and Moldova. We have also contributed to shadow reports on countries in this region, including the Czech Republic and Romania.
